ARTIST STATEMENT

In my work, I explore themes of beauty, romance, and sensuality, embodied in the boundless brilliance of the human form, sculpted onto canvas. My central focus is the strength and resiliency of humanity, in their multifaceted capacity to champion multiple identities and life-purposes simultaneously.

From Florence’s Uffizi Gallery and Boboli Gardens, to Paris’ Rodin museum, I bring the intoxicating inspiration of sculptures from the renaissance period into my visual art, stripping the color to make room for texture, emotion, and depth. The three-dimensionality of sculpture on canvas merges the physical with the imaginative. Neutral colors, texture, and the occasional cameo of charcoal pencil are the central ingredients.
